I'm a straight white Christian but I just read a comment about how one yahoo member thinks that Gays/Lesbians should be kept away from kids. I read another from an athiest who was insulting Christians & yet another insult toward the Jews. Why cant some people be tolerant. I personally can't understand how someone can be attracted to someone of the same sex but it's not my place to, my friend is gay & I wish he would find the love of his life. Are people afraid of something different? Or is it just pure hatred? Wouldn't it be a learning lesson to have a gay hater live as a gay, a Jewish hater live as a Jew? Do you think that would make them more tolerable?

I wish people were more like you. It all comes to FEAR. People hate things they fear.

May be because some Christians have to qualify that they are white. Perhaps it may be a good idea to have white Christians to live as a gay, as a Jew, as a Muslim. Will it make, them, the white Christians more tolerable. I fear not.

pure hatred, which results from fear. yeah, that would DEFINITELY make them more tolerable, and make them see that there's nothing wrong with being gay, Jewish, Christian, etc... I so wish that were possible LOL I'm a straight person too lol

Human beings have two very distinct character flaws:

1. They generalize.

2. Once they come across a bad example they use rule one to create judgements and prejudices as a natural means for protection. Prejudice is actually a human basic instinct, created when one gets 'bitten' by another and does not wish to be 'bitten' anymore by somebody similar.

Putting someone in someone elses shoes won't change them. Some people out there just don't think like you do, and by god I say wee need more of you. Haha, if hanging out with gay people makes you gay, hanging out with tall people will make you tall.
