hii i want to have two phone lines(with two numbers) can a phone occupy two sim cards?

HI.
I have used one such phone before on an old nokia. All i needed to do was buy a new battery pack that comes with this function were i can insert in 2 different sim cards. So when it is switched on and off, it'll automatically alternates between the 2 lines. But the only thing is, i don't think this is available on the newer handphones or it's very rare now as mobiles are cheaper so many people do this with 2 phones. So you dont get one line cut off at any one time...
