He gets 9 tons to use for every ton planted (the other ton going to replace the seed).
Therefore to get 10 tons of usable potatoes he needs to plant 10/9 of a ton of seed, or 1.1111111...

None. He should wait until the right season for planting potatoes, as you don't do it in mid October!
(Just a guess, I don't know much about potato growing, but I think this time of year is when they are pulled up? They need to be fairly old to survive winter, as they need to put mass down below ground out of the way of frost, so they need to have been around a while to do that.)

He should plant 'ONE TON ONE HUNDRED ELEVEN KG AND 112 GRAMS' of potatoes so that he can get 10 ton yield and 'ONE TON ONE HUNDRED ELEVEN KG and 120 grams of seed' I guess he wont mind ignoring extra 8 grams of potatoes.. after all it's just potatoes not the 'Gold' !

ten tons to plant now
as the scenario says: "HE USES TEN TONS OF POTATOS EVERY YEAR"
The ten tons is not the yield, it is the amount he plants.
