most of the music is done by the jeff healey band. and some of the songs are his own originals. but if you know anything about the history of blues music, alot of the songs jeff healey does are covers. most of the songs are originally done by old blues artist like willie dixon, john lee hooker, and alot of other artist from their generation Jeff Healey is awesome either way. but alot of his songs are infact covers. but yes he still rocks. he is one of my favorites, other music played on that sound track are songs from bob seger, otis redding. patrick swayze did actually write a couple of the songs done in the movie also.. its not just jeff healey that does covers either!! if you listen to any blues and research it at all you will find that alot of todays blues artist use alot of the old blues. just like stevie ray vaughan.probably one of the best blues artist in todays history. and most of his songs were just covers but he played them his way, you could probably look into any blues artist and find that alot of their songs were done previously and are covers.
