A score or rank at the 25th percentile means that 25% of all the scores are below that score and 75% of all the scores are above that score.
To find the score at the 25% percentile, write down all the scores in order from lowest to highest. Then find the score that is 25% of the way from the bottom.
Example:
Let's say you have 100 scores. Write them down from lowest to highest. The score that is 25th from the bottom is at the 25th percentile. 75% of the scores are above. MrStinky is wrong.

The person who said "higher than 75%" is wrong. It means a score is higher than 25% of all the scores.
You can find ANY percentile by taking the percent times the total number of scores. Then get rid of that many scores from the bottom of your list. The next one up is the given percentile.
The 25th percentile is the same thing as the lower quartile (Q1), which most graphing calculators will find easily. If you calculate "1-Var Stats" on a graphing calculator, Q1 is usually one of the things in the read-out.

if your score is at 25th percentile then it means that (100-25)= 75 percent of people who gave that test are above you. for-example , if there were 100 people in test, you have the 25th lowest score

percentile is the percentage of people scoring either equal to you or less than you. so 25th percentile simply means that there are 25% of people who scored either equal to you or less than you.
for example: it means you have 75th rank in the class of 100 students.
