Once again here is another myth that is perpetrated by mainstream media and culture. Who says most gay men and "most men" are just after sex? Just why do people keep on repeating the same steriotypes over and over again?
It is true though, when one doesnt want to find a hook up there are thousands upon thousands of websites to cater for casual hook ups, and none that feature discussions on politics, or coming out issues, or that perhaps cater for alternative gay men.

If you are looking for men to meet just join a gym or join a volunteer type of organization. Or find the local gay bar and meet guys. The Internet is rife with guys looking for sexual release they don't want friendships that is what they have girlfriends for. LOL

you make friends by talking to people and connecting. Whether you have sex is always discretional and otional. Yes most men want to have sex gy or straight. Thats how men get down, there is nothing like a good nut/release.

that is pretty tough. but gay men are not the only ones. many people on the net are into morely sex than reasonable dating and getting to know each other.
my advice is just to talk to people and if they talk about sex and wanting it, forget them. just be patient. they'll be one right friend for friendship.
