Well I'm 8 months pregnant, and when I was 5 weeks the pregnancy test showed up negative (I was 3 days late for my period at that point). So it definitely happens! I went to the doctor for a blood test and that confirmed the pregnancy.

Out of curiosity, I did another home test a week later to see if it comes out positive and it did, but the second line was still very feint. So I don't really trust the home tests anymore...

Remember the urine tests checks for the presence of HCG hormone in your urine, which is a hormone that your body starts producing when you get pregnant. In very early pregnancy (within 2 weeks after conceiving), the levels in your body is often still too low to actually show up in your urine, but the blood test that the doctor does will check the exact level of that hormone. So they will be able to tell you if you're pregnant, and how far along you are (based on the concentration).

YES, it could be very wrong I took 3 pregnancy tests and they all came back negative and i went two months not knowing i was pregnant until the morning sickness kicked in but that doesnt mean everyone will have it...I also had a friend who went 3 months without a period and she never could take a pregnancy test and it would come back postitive so she finally got blood work done... good luck and congrats if you are.

It most certainly can be wrong!! Give it a day or 2 and try again other wise seek doctors advise and get a blood test. It may not show up on a home testing kit due to it been to early. Good luck :o)

Of course, It's all about the hormone when its released and timing is everything when relying on a urine test, best is the first urine of the morning as its been siting in your bladder for a good period of time, but it can still come back negative and be positive . Me personally had a very low hormone when pregnant with my son, I was 9 weeks when I found out and the doctor did both the urine test and blood test, urine was negative and blood was positive. Good luck.

You could take it again. If you still think you are, then go to your doctor and he could do more testing. I would just wait and see if your period starts, then you will know more. It used to be, you were never sure unless you missed several periods. That was a long time ago, before they had pregnancy tests. You also did not know what you were having either, just had to wait and see. It was always a surprise.

The home tests can be wrong but are generally correct in most cases the best test is to give a small carton of urine to the pharmacist and getting her to do her own test.

My mom had the same thing when she was preg with me- the urine did not have high enough levels of the hormones that indicate positive-therefore, if you really feel pregnant, go to the doctors and demand a BLOOD test-not urine test. Good luck

yes it can definitely say no when you are! if it is a home test though! it could be that you took it to early. buy another test in about a weeks time and take it in the morning when you wake up. that allow the estrogen level to pick up. or take a blood test at your doc, that's probably the best way to find out.

good luck

Yes, it can be wrong, especially in the early days of a pregnancy. I would wait a week and take another. If the second one comes out negative, but you are still experiencing symptoms of pregnancy (such as absent menstruation), it would be time to contact your doctor.
