The usual entry level salary would be £11,000 based on a 40-hr week (not including lunch breaks).

Depending on the company, benefits package, hours and the exact job description it can be anywhere between £10,000 and £12,500.

I would reccomend bringing the candidate in on between £10,500 and £11,500 (depending on what you can afford and the role itself) and buliding in a £500 increase after 6 months if performance has met all required levels and rising by another £500 a year later. That seems very reasonable and gives your employee something to work towards.

I'm in Kent and we have two office administrators

one is 17 and is paid £9400

the other is 19 and is paid £15900

we pay the 19 year much more becasue she is excellent, the office would be a disaster zone without her - for a few thousand extra its really worth paying to keep someone good long term - if you pay her the average then she'll probably leave when she sees a job for a little more money.

if she is good at what she does and is invaluable I would suggest something around the 11-12k mark and give her a contract where she gets a raise every 6 months say 5-700quid each time - regular guaranteed pay increases will keep your staff much happier and they will be much more loyal just a for a few hundred pounds.

I assume you mean an administration assistant. The fact that she is better than others is a good reason to pay her more, however before you jump in with both feet, weigh up the maximum value this can have to your company. For example, you may have the best window cleaner in the world, but that doesn't matter much if you've got Pilkington "K" self-cleaning glass windows and customers never come to your premises anyway. May be better to give her 12 months on the usual / slightly enhanced salary, and if she shows more general aptitude, reward her by giving her a more challenging and / or lucrative role.

Well i am 18 and in london, i am a legal secretary, well trainee at the moment. it took 2 yrs at college, up to level 3, diploma. and i get £18k, so you should get about £15 or £14, if you get offered lower, take it, its soooooooooo hard to get a first job. once you have worked for 2 years, you get double your wages else where in another job. TRUST ME.

About 9k, as its out of london. Plus this leaves you plenty of space to offer incentives like wage increases and bonuses.

You'd need a homosexual partner. You seem to present yourself as female. Homo boys can whore themselves better.
