Just write down the words coming from your heart and remember the tune of your feelings.

Pen, pencil, tape recorder, or computer keyboard...all work for me. That plus an understanding of words, meanings, metaphors, similies, alliterations, rhyme, meter, beat, music, scales, pitch, octaves....writing lyrics is one thing, writing music another. Songs are words put to music. Is that what you mean?

First sing a song and then slowly sing.. and slow. and try pen down each word gradually:)
