When I open an attachment in an email, my email closes, but I still have the attachment open, why?

I have dial-up, when I open my email account with an attachment, once I click to open the attachment, my email closes and after reading the attachment I have to open up internet explorer and log in to yahoo all over again.

If you are using Windows XP...
click "Start"
select "Control Panel"
double click "Internet Options"
click the "Advanced" tab
under the sub catagory "Browsing"
de-select "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts"
Yeah, I know, ya gotta read through a bunch of other crap.
It's fourth from the bottom in the sub catagory.
click "Apply"
click "OK"
close "Control Panel"
Might have to restart...don't know. I do what the other guy suggested...just right click.

Guess the attachment you are opening, opens up on the I/E screen where your email was. Try to click back to see if your email appears again. alternatively, you can try to open the attachment in the new window. Right clik the attachment and select open in a new window.
