Home all day but very busy with being full time mum. I did ask once how long it would take me to get to level 7. Someone said at my rate about 5 years! I would love to know how people get so many point so fast. It really must be a an horrendous amount of time spent in front of the computer! I tend to be on more at night once the kids are in bed and times like just now when I am doing a quick mail check! Sometimes just can't resist a peep here tho! Right - off to get the washing out on the line. Things to do, places to go!!!

I am 69 and retired so, yes, I do spend 50% of my time on
Q&A and the rest of the time I study science for others who
do not speak English too well. Doctors, mathematics, ecology,
astrophysics, nanotechnooy, gravitational and centrifugal forces,
perhaps a few others. When I was working, I was a futures
market analyst (who is supposed to tell others what to do with
their investments) and now I have a broken vertebrae (L5), wear
a corset with steel rods down the back so I am unable to bend
or collapse like a puppet.Yes, I have a lot of time which you can
tell by the number of questions that I have answered (over 1.000).
I choose questions carefully since I only wish to help. The lonely,
the sick, those in doubt etc. I do not consult previous answers
nor do I Google the question, and yes, perhaps the most frequent
answer is when I complain to Yahoo about terms and conditions,
which I have read but think most have no idea what they are.
About offending, respecting, writing correctly swearing etc. My
replies tend to be lengthy only because I am not out for points.
For all my answers, I have only 49 best and I don‘t suppose I
deserve more as I am not playing a game. I answer in several
countries as I do speak other languages, and believe me, one
guy, not in the UK. managed to reach 500 best answers in less
than one month. I know how to do it, but the purpose of this site
is to make friends and help others. If you agree with me, you
will have read this to the very end, if not you only read a few lines.
But there is one thing that I always mention to the abusers, do
you realize how much this site costs Yahoo, if so, bide by their
terms and conditions. To be frank, I don‘t even know what lol
means, perhaps I will find out some day. Thanks for your attention,
if you have reached this far, and if not I still wish you all the best.
Cheers, Iain Ritchie (my real name)

I work on a PC all day (i'm an Administrative Organiser for a Trade Union) and I certainly do not earn a massive amount. But it does allow me the chance to dip into the Yahoo Answers site once in a while which is nice.

I work as a receptionist 9:00 till 5:30 I am at my computer all day, I am on my own in reception so I do get a bit bored sometimes. The pay isn't brilliant but I enjoy my job and the people I work with are all really nice and that's more important than money to me.

I work as a Nurse Assistant, but I only work 3 days a week, so I do have a little time to spend on my PC, but not a lot, as I also have 4 children. I make enough, and along with my husbands pay, we live ok.

Some people might just be retired and enjoy trying to pass a bit of their wisdom on to others - the only trouble with that is that sometimes the recipients don't like what they get as a reply so come on with the "Get a life" stupidity. They don't seem to realise that some people have HAD a life and are trying to pass a little knowledge on! God knows, some of them here can do with some help !!!

I'm a Business Analyst.
I come on here while I work because I run very large reports. Some of them take hours to accumulate and sort data. While a database is querying data, it prevents me from running any other reports with the data at that moment. So I just have to wait.
While I wait - I do this!

I do work for 3-5 hours a day, but that fetches me enough to feed, clothe, shelter and then some. The work involves, again a pc.

Looking at the leaderboard... those guys must have no life!!
I am in IT and middle management for a multinational.....sorry, have to be a bit cryptic just incase some of the more senior management - with even more time on their hands than me - looks at 'answers'.
I have two modes.
1) where I am in the middle of a real sh*tstorm, which I have to sort out.
2) where I sit around doing sweet F.A. for half the day.
at the moment I am in mode 2 :-)

Good question! I'm also curious to know how the high scores have been obtained. I work as a System Administrator on a small network, so I have time to spare on the 'net, but not THAT much time.
