There is a town in Texas where 5% of all the people living have unlisted phone numbers. If you select 100 names at random from the town's phone book, on average how many of these people would have unlisted phone numbers?

My first thought would be five... if you were taking 5% from a hundred. But i'm guessing that isn't the case, because that would be too obvious.

Do they still use phone books, isn't it all on the Internet these days? You can even find the unlisted numbers if you look in the right places... :)

None of them - you don't find unlisted numbers in the phone book - that's what unlisted means :P
