philippines is my home country...
it is known as the pearl of the orient...
lots of natural resources, but it is still unknown to some of its people... they got good export products such as fruits and raw materials... hospitable warm people is the image most tourists say about its people...
well, people tend to generalize..
majority of the people suffers poverty but not all....
some government officials are corrupt, but not all...

I think of family, the humidity in high summer, buckets of rain, typhoon season and the special warm fuzzy feeling at around christmas when my relatives flock together bringing in lotsa food, like pancit and zuman (or whatever way you spell it...)
My mom's a Filipina, I was born in Manila and spent virutally the first two years of my life there, so I have a natural attachment to the place. Also, I have the biggest cumulation of relatives...I have like 26 first cousins...then again I have like 10 aunts and uncles...

Judging from Boracay (where I've been) the country must be beautiful!
The majority of people are polite and helpful and apart from the natural beauty, there's a great culture and civilization to explore.
There are problems of poverty, pollution, corruption etc but hopefully in the future a political stability will be achieved and problems will be solved.
