Parents are partial to a singular child...it's a healthy part of the bonding process and skill set development. Parents that make visible efforts to remain impartial and fair to all children are lieing to themselves and alienating the child they are partial too.

It's a valuable tool to employ as mentoring is simplified...and it's easy to modulate partiality in a fair manner without alienating.

Yes. Actually it happens more often that you would think.

It's ok to treat your children differently based on their own individual personalities, etc.; but be careful not to favor one child over another.
Your relationship will be somewhat differ ant with each child, because each of your children are their own unique self. Just be sure that all of your children feel loved and that you don't create competition between your kids.

They can tend to be, not on accident or purpose but it does happen. Watch the movie "Taking Lives" and realize the devastation caused in that unhealthy lifestyle for the children.

not good mothers ,but they are not all good.My mother always favoured my sister and now all of a sudden she treats us like twins ,equally bad!! she even seems to feel we now have the same birthday

Absolutely. People are people and we naturally like some
better than others even if we feel we shouldn't. Studies
repeatedly bear this out.

yes.... which is really so unfair.. most cases this is one of the reasons why some children have some tendencies of rebellion...

yes but they will never admit such feeling but you can see it on they way they treat the child.

yes.sometimes esp.for younger ones as they feel the elders may bully them.
