Definitely take the job in the USA, however, before you leave, make arrangements for a visa for your partner to enter the USA, then have your partner file for permanent residency once you are here together.

Is it twice the money, or just twice the figure but in dollars? I relocated from the US to Britain two years ago for a great new job. Now I'm having to relocate again for my profession to Canada. If I had someone special here who couldn't relocate, I'd probably be staying. If there was a chance they could relocate in time, I'd probably take the job if it was a good career move. Flights and calls are so cheap now that the distance only matters in more personal regards.

Keep in mind that you may be relocating to a very expensive part of the US for the dollars you are making. $$$ in New York City, will not go nearly as far as they would in Iowa.
If the offer sounds good, take it though, if you want to come back. You could get your partner here if need be, but make sure she really wants to leave her home country.

Nobody can tell you what to do you should talk to your partner about it and see how she feels about it. If the job security is better and they are going to assist you with your transfer cost and your partner is prepared to wait to join you then I would say go for it sounds like a good offer, but as I said in the begging it is something only you can decide.

Would have to be a mutual decision, and if you have other family there as well. Don't just come for only the money, you have to be secure enough here as well. And how how long is "a while"...when you're away from your partner.
