Back in the early 80's he had songs with titles like 'I Would Die 4 U'. Was he the first person to use 'U' instead of 'you' and '4' instead of 'for'?

No. There was also Nothing Compares 2U. But I think Snoop Dogg is the one who originated most of the crappy slang you see today.

No, the only thing Prince created was an amazing PR campaign designed to lose all his fans. First by posint nude on the LoveSexy album, then by changing his name to O(+>, then by becoming a Jehova's Witness and getting all J-freaky.

It was cool to see him on SNL recently and with Beyonce not too long ago. It's so painfully obvious the man is holding back from putting Beatles-popular music out there. And he ruins it with his minimalism and slightly effeminate style.

It's nice that he's so great with his guitar, but the man needs to really put his stamp on the world. He's gonna have to put some pop out there.
