Reboot just means restart. Do it from your START menu please, not by simply cutting power.

you can reboot by pushing the reset button or if youre using windows xp u can click on start choose shutdown and a window will open and then choose restart. no files need to get hurt

You reboot by turning your pc off and back on! You shouldnt lose anything!

If you meant to say "reformat" in place of "reboot", you got to backup your files, because, if you reformat, you´ll lost everything.
