A lot depends on your interests.

Bike tours or rentals available at http://www.bici-burro.com/

My favorite activity is exploring on foot. The following is my favorite walk.

From the Jardin, take Cuña de Allende, the street to the right of the Parroquia, one block to the end, some interesting shops and galleries on the right side. Note the Posada Carmina; its courtyard restaurant is one of my favorite place for lunch. At the end of the block, veer to the left and continue down Calle Aldama. When you get to the Parque Juarez, turn left. There are some fine residences on the left side (the parque will be on your right).
When the street makes sharp right turn, instead take the short street straight ahead. At the next corner are the colorful wash basins where you often find women doing laundry. A short narrow street zigzags among the trees down to the washbasins. You could head back to the centro on Recreo, or you could climb the hill, on the trail to the left of the zigzagging street. This area, El Chorro, is my favorite in town. At the top there is a long porch where you can sit and look back down.
In front of the rustic church you can turn left and walk back to center, choosing a streets to turn left on. Or if you don't mind climbing some more, take the staircased walkway to the right of the church and follow it as changes from stairs to walkway and back again a few times before reaching the street, where you should turn left and shortly com to the most popular view point to look down over San Miguel.
You may have stop somewhere along the way for lunch, or may have noticed some place around the Jardin, to return to now for lunch such as the Carmina.
For dinner there are many possibilities. Again there may be some place that you noticed on your walk. An excellent place for a splurge dinner is El Campanario, at Calle Canal 34 across from the bell tower for which it is named.
You can find some photos of San Miguel mixed others on my website. Go to
