I have been thinking about the difference between expressing our individuality through what we wear, and wearing what our "group" wears, whether that's gang colours or religious attire. I don't mean uniforms at work, or even dress codes at work or at school. I mean when we go out on the street, on our own time.
If what you wear is dictated by your club, gang, ethnic group or religion, is that freedom?

No, it's not. I would never allow anyone to tell me what to wear. It's not freedom. It's kind of cult-like.

Yes we should be able to dress the way we choose, as long as there are no health issues. reality is society dictates what is acceptable/not acceptable apparel. I say to each his own, if I don't like someone's clothes I can look away.

It depends, to an extent yes. But without offending other people to the extreme! Like nudity, I don't want to see peoples rude parts hanging their when I'm shopping. Certain places you can dress as bad as you want.

we should ,but we prefer to dress the way everybody else does, customs dictate the way we dress, and many other things.
Of course we try to dress a little different, so as to call attention to ourselves, but not too different.

Yes,

But then you have to suffer the consequences. Not all the people feel the same way you do.

more mature people dress as they please and many become trendsetters. Look at the stars who have the self confidence to wear what they like and set new styles.
