eih whew i think you just need to believe that you deserve to have more than what you are getting right now..first you need to be comfortable with yourself stop comparing yourself with others because you're so different..do whatever you think that will boost your confidence, if you think that getting a hair cut will make you feel better then do it, if you think that joining a certain club will make feel good then go for it..don't deprive youself on the attention that you need..look good, feel good and love yourself first before you love others...do it for yourself...

It's the other way around. When you do things just for you it boosts your confidence.

You could try Self-confidence CD's or books. You can even download CDs onto your ipod. How about life-coaching or assertiveness classes.
Self confidence is difficult to gain, view every little step you take as a victory and progress.
Good luck

Its good you are asking the tough questions.
Self-awareness is the key to unlocking some of life's big mysteries.
Some people say that discovery of one's self is life's biggest and most wonderful journey. I agree.
I believe you need to have a strong set of values, to really know who you are and what you stand for, and more importantly - what you WONT stand for.
Sel-questioning, and their answers, are the making of your foundation, and only you can lay it for yourself. Its a deeply individual task. Which is why its not really a good idea to depend too much, or for too long, on any one other person or persons, not when we have ourselves.
With that, comes the beginning of self-respect, putting oneself first, listening to that inner voice that NEVER stops speaking. Its talking to you EVERY time you are faced with choices, easy or difficult, good or bad.
This quote has helped me a lot:
"You have power over your mind, not over outside events. Realise this, and you will find strength."
- Marcus Aurelius.

nice question!!!
first of all you must believe in your self & the mightier god.
you must remember"All that happens that happens for good".
U should keep your mind thinking what would be good.
don't compare your self with others.take good things from your friends & parents.
whenever u get small success, boost up your self.
never take very seriously the praises & criticies of your near & dear one.ok...
remember..
"SUCCESS IS NOT A MATTER OF LUCK, BUT IT IS A MATTER OF HARDWORK & INDOMITABLE DETERMINATION".
BEST OF LUCK

It is importantto make time in your life just for you. Book a facial or a shopping trip with a close friend or alone and treat yourself.
Or to start just buy a couple of mags make a cuppa and read and absorb helpful tips.
