I am getting married next year and trying to work out a budget for having a wedding banquet (abt 25 tables), wedding package with photo shoots, wedding gowns etc.
Can anyone advise me how much I need to set aside for my BIG day?

Wedding Dinner:
Cheapest table you can get is from restaurant.
About $600 per table ($600 x 25 = $15 000)
Extra alchohol at the most $2000
But if you invite the RIGHT people, this can be fully covered.

Photoshoots and wedding gowns:
Cheapest you can find.. go Malaysia.. JB.. can find decent one for about $2000.

The more dresses you want, the more expensive
The more photos you want in your album, the more expensive

Wedding car:
sometimes included in package. If not included.. beg, steal borrow.. if really have to rent.. about $350 (depending on wat car you use)

Photographer + videographer (optional)
Photog is about $800 for full day (cheapest)
Videographer also the same rate

Angpows for sis and bros and everyone who helps"
$500

Are you going to live on your own or with parents. If you are also looking for a house.. then even if your CPF can cover everything and the reno loan can cover some of it, you will still need about $10K of cash on hand to pay stamp fees, lawyers fees and get furniture and stuff.

Good luck! best is you do your own research and think abt wat you want.. i based my figures here on CHEAPEST rates..but they may not MEAN they deliver the results that you want.

We don't know what you want, there are lavish small dinners and there are simple dinners at the void deck..suggest you :

1) talk to the rstn of your choice
2) call a bridal shop to check what packages they offer
3) Of course besides that, you need to put aside abt $1000 for ang pows for opening door, tea ceremony, bridesmaids, flower gals, & yr brothers.
