Maybe try meeting a Russian girl who lives in the same country as you and isn't looking for a green card. And why does she have to be Russian?

you should download the messenger most russians use at www.icq.com, it's free. Russians rarely use yahoo or msn.
I know many people who found a spouse just meeting and talking to people. One has to be desperate to look for a husband abroad. There are lots of good women in Russia, but there are mean ones also. Someone might just use you for the citizenship, make you give money, it happens.
Maybe you should use some russian dating agencies? Like www.dateguru.ru You just place your pictures, write about yourself, and get to meet ladies with the same interests... I mean that in such websites the ladies just look for a good guy to have a family or a relationship with, not for a "husband abroad".
You want to find someone not very needy, who will like you for who you are...

i've heard many many stories that russian girls only come to the US for a green card or money, and they are very tricky, can fool you into thinking they are faithful, but when you're not around they are completely the opposite. be very careful and if you must have one, maybe you should change your mind or open your mind to new cultures. i have personal friends who lost their life savings, jobs, and children because of the russian bride scam. check out this website... i've witnessed this scam personally http://www.russian-detective.com/scams/gcg.htm
