a pirana was found dead in the thames in 204 but the river is unable to sutsain the fish due to its col temp, so you are a lair

The water temperature would have been sufficiently warm during the very hot summer months. So that is entirely feasible.
If the pond was stagnant then it wouldn't support any fish life at all, which isn't the case so we can discount that claim.
The fish in the photograph is definitely a Piranha.
The time and date would also be on the phone cameras file details.
Yes it is possible.
Further to you calling someone a liar because you claim that a Piranha couldn't live in the Thames, you are right that it can't, but don't call that person a liar because if you'd read it carefully, it was DEAD. Somebody probably disposed of it after it got too big for its tank and it subsequently died.

Well, when I was youngewr I used to canoe on the Thames and I remember that there was a poster on the back of the door in the changing rooms that listed fish living in the Thames and the piranha was one of them. The Thames is definately dirty- I got ill every time I swam in it!
Hmm, might have been thinking of a pike!!!
Still to call me a liar is a bit harsh, it was a long time ago!

???????what are all these responses about the Thames ? has the river been re-routed since I last looked ?I always thought it was the Mersy in Stockport, being a Yorkshireman maybe Iam wrong as it's 'tother side of the pennines . Either the kid is hoaxing or someone chucked an aquarium fish in for him to find !
Either way a swim in the river in stockport is more likely to poison you rather than hving your flesh torn off by ravenous fish.

I decided to give up my aquarium and allowed my fish to die out over a couple of years. 3 months ago, my last fish died and I left the tank, with the power off, until I could get around to cleaning it. The algeae built up and the water was horribly green - like a disgusting soup. When I got around to cleaning it, I was stunned to discover a fish (neon tetra) still alive, that I didn't know was there. So it just shows you that fish can survive in really horrible conditions.
We cleaned the tank, refilled it, bought more fish to keep the tetra company. It died 3 weeks later and I'm back once again to having a tank of fish!

Why should it be a wind up? The boy caught it and released it and next day came back and saw it floating dead. It didnt survive very long. No doubt someone put it in the pond cos it outgrew their aquarium. Stranger things than this have happened.
