What can you say! I know of parents who are independent too! Think of it from both points of view! Parents are used some kind of liberty having their own, so they dont want charity! Yet it takes so much effort to bend low and tell your children that you need support!
A good child is one who makes their parent feel that she/he is not doing a charity and gives a sense of selfworth to their parents. This is a relationship built over years. A family that already lives separate from their parents cannot enjoy such a relationship!
I live with my mother-in-law yet I know I will never go for a single holiday without once checking with her! I know I will take care of her even if she does not want it! But I will abide by her decision, if that is what she wants. Only when things go out of control I will take over because at that point there is no need for words! I hope you got the point.

There are two reasons. The Two reasons can be blamed towards the parents.
1. Child is the father of the Man. Child will follow how his father or mother has acted before.
2. Allowing their children to move across the world only for the sake of money and fame.
We can call it as innocence or ignorance.

Hats off to you jaggy, for asking this question… I can assure you that you would always be happy throughout your life.
Traitor… we should call them… one who does not realizes the real worth of his parents has no right to live in peace. Parents have given us birth as such it is a fact that our existence is there only because of them.
In old age, the parents go through a critical phase of hormonal misbalance and they need constant attention of their offspring. In fact in, advanced age parents tend to become like children… they like to eat chocolates, chaats… they some times giggle and some times are wet eyed… don’t think that they become insane. A typical period comes in our life… in the lives of each one of us.
Today’s children will become parents tomorrow… thereafter they will become old parents of grownup independent citizens.
The history repeats… our children are keenly observing us… how do we treat our old parents… they are learning progressive lessons every day how to treat oldies. Take it for granted that in the time to come they will treat us in the same way we did our old parents.

they do anything for u,they brought anything what u want,
remember your childhood where u cant do anything without your parents.

arey bhai mata pita ka sthan to bhagvan se bhi upar hai unhey dukhi kar tum bhi kabhi sukhi nahi rah sakte. pls take care of your parents.

Nature extracts its own revenge. Likewise in life, what you give out is what you get back in return. Even in the computer world, GIGO -garbage in-garbage out. So this person must realise that what he is doing to his parents is what will be done to himself when his turn comes.

nothing because problem is in the parents and in their upbringing their children with no humane feelings. Anyone with at least 1% of human feeling wouldn't do that

the same thing we say about the parent that did not take care of their young children.............what goes around...........comes around.......I tried and my older parent is now reprogrammed by the system and does not want me to take care of her..she is brainwashed

You can advice them that their days are not too far to get the same treatment from their children.
