It depends upon what you are downloading. Some downloaded things like movies go into temporary Internet files. However if you want to watch the movie, save it to your desktop. That way it will be easy to find. Then you can click on it twice to open and watch. After you finish with it, Delete the saved version from the desktop. Then go to tools, Internet options, general tab. Click delete files and that will get rid of all the temp Internet files I mentioned above. Downloaded programs go into the program files folder on the hard drive. Usually when you download a program it automatically puts its files into that folder by default.

Make a folder giving it a name. When you use your DVD software to copy the movie point the save to the folder that you made. When you want to delete the move open the folder and delete all that is in it.

From there, you may desire to have numerous dates available from which to repair your computing gadget - you would be waiting to return your computing gadget's settings to a prior date in the previous this "virus" handed off, with out dropping any documents like photos, and so on, which you have presently saved.

Generally when you download something you can select its destination on your computer. After watching said movie *cough* porn *cough*. Go to the folder it ended up in and delete it. (Right click on the file and select delete) Then on your desktop go to your recycling bin and empty it.
If you are using a P2P network (Limewire, etc). Every file usually goes to a designated folder.

I think that for all computers the default download location is the Desktop (which is an actual folder on the C drive).

Most generally you can designate a location for the file, but if you don't they should go into the "My Documents" folder, possibly as Temporary Internet Files.
This may vary with different Windows operating systems.

plus, it's a good idea to type in the "find files and folders" the name of the software/program to remove anything else.
