I women can love her child more than her husband because her child is part of her she made that child and carried that child so the bond between them is very tight. But at the same time that does not mean she does not love her husband just as much it is just differant. Also remember a child needs a lot more love than a husband does.

Are you asking which one are they SUPPOSED to love more? I don't think one should have to choose, but in my experience, your love for your child seems to take precedence over your spouse. I know I could live with the death of my wife a lot easier than I could that of my child. However, this is an opinion, so others may disagree. Also, in most blended families, a step-parent oftentimes doesn't understand that connection to the child and expects the spouse to love him/her more than the kids. That is completely unreasonable.

child. that's your blood my daughter is just like my mother in law and can touch nerves but i love her more then life and my son is just like my father and grandfather. nothing makes you happier or scares you more then your children.
Also if you have a good relationship with the father (husband) it would only increase the love for the child. since the child is part the father too.

The love a mother has for her child is different then the love she has for her husband. She loves both unconditionally, just in different ways.

Her child according to 'The Female Brain". Women undergo hormonal changes during pregnancy which rewire her brain so that the child is the love interest. At least according to the book, and from what I have seen and experienced, it is correct.

The child will always be first. It's something about carrying that baby inside of you and feeling it grow. Atleast it is for me, and my husband knows it.

Being a wife and mother I would have to say that I love them both equally, but differently. I wouldn't have my son if I did not have my husband.
