I'm learning guitar right now and also want to learn a brass instrument, something used in jazz. Thinking either trumpet or trombone.. any suggestions? How hard is it to learn? compared with guitar..

I'm a trombone player and used to play in my school's jazz band for two years, but i switched to guitar this year. Trombone was very exciting, especially with jazz arrangements. At first it will be hard getting used to the instrument, and of course you'd have to start from the fundamentals then work your way up to a jazz performing level. And in the trombone they're not gonna have you playing crazzzy high notes, for the most part, but in trumpet, they expect you to hit those bad boys!

Well, may be you need to listen to many brass instruments jazz players before you take your decision. Stan Getz, Paquito D'rivera on the Sax, Miles Davis on the Trumpet... well just explore
Good luck
