I think it might run into some monopoly legislation problems in the European Union, which would, effectively, make it very hard for a deal like that to go through.

well... no... because they are bascially the same thing.... and plus there like enemies!! and plus google already bought yahoo.... so i dun think they'll be doing much more this yr..
