I am thinking of putting linoleum in my bathroom floor as well. I'd love to have fancy tiles installed, but since I am the one cleaning the bathroom, lenolium feels easier and no fuss cleaning it. I found out that there are so many different kinds of lenolium on the market now, which is durable and look as real as tiles, bricks or even jude rugs. Let your mom pick whatever she wants. Perhaps, you both go flooring store and see what's available.

Lenolium is definitely more durable and much easier to install - less time consuming as well. Either product is great so long as you install them correctly. Make sure you silicone around the edges of everything in a bathroom as the moisture can cause damage over time. Nowadays you can get lino that looks like tiles even. Just don't buy cheap crap, remember you get what you pay for. With lino it's cleaner too as you don't have to worry about grout, etc.

if you're not too worried about cost, definately go with tile, contrary to what others are telling you, tile is much more durable than linoleum. given proper care tile will last the life of her home. Linoleum is considerably less expensive and easier to install, but it will wear with traffic and it tears easily. tiles will only crack if you drop something very, very heavy on them. Tile is a little more tedious to install, but not at all difficult. just make sure you use the right size trowel for the adhesive and seal the grout after its done and dried. if you have more ?'s you can e-mail me through here.

Ceramic tiles laid in thinset are the way to go. For Chrissakes, it's a bathroom. BTW, it's LINOLEUM. And I doubt you will be buying that, more than likely you will probably get vinyl flooring.

Linoleum is a floor covering made from solidified linseed oil (linoxyn) in combination with wood flour or cork dust over a burlap or canvas backing. Pigments may be added to the materials used. In modern lay parlance, linoleum is often incorrectly used to describe vinyl flooring. The finest linoleum floors, known as 'inlaid', are extremely durable; they are made by joining and inlaying solid pieces of linoleum.

I would go with tile. They are more durable than one would think. As long as they are caulked well, they will last a long time. Linoleum can get nastyand usually get little cracks that cause all kinds of mildew and mold.

Tile is much better, more durable and it won't crack easily if its installed in a level surface, alsomake sure that you use the expensive stuff to put it in, since it's what they called flexible and it prevents cracks.

Tiles of course. It is easy to clean and doesn't loose its shine. I had linoleum they were a pain after a while. sometimes water seeps underneath causing it to kinda peel. They were a mess so I changed them. use tiles and stay worry free

I had a bathroom in a rental once that had peach paint. I didn't think I liked it. I put some mirrors on one wall so that there was less of it and then had a lot of plants and grew to like it. White is nice with peach and lots of lush foliage.
