not me i only want the bad rap to go because some good rap artist like tupac (RIP) his style needs to come back.. he rapped about real things that were going on in his life and in the society. some rappers are just "rapping" for fame not to get a point across. but if all the rappers were like tupac or zero then some of the answers would be different but i don't think that rap should become extinct

Its sad really just because the rap genre started out BECAUSE people had something real that they wanted to say, it stood for something important and real.

Now these clowns have taken it and turned it into some sort of trash get rich quick scheme for young black jackasses as opposed to young men/women that stand for something.

I hate what contemporary rap has become but at the same time I find myself standing up for it because besides the many old school legends that MUST be respected like tupac j dillah etc there are still alot of lesser known artists who still stand for something and know what they're talking about. Mos def, lupe fiasco, common, nas, talib kweli, and a bunch of others that I don't even know about are out there for a good cause as opposed to the usual immature crap.
These are the men, not boys, in the rap industry. I hope that in time even the 14 yr olds will realise what trash it is and listen to people that are real as opposed to the usual shake yo *** bunch.

Don't give up on rap! Find out who's who if you're interested in the genre, no one grown will listen to the contemporary crap.

tupac rifa siempre

most rap should be labeled the same only with a "c" in front of it because thats what it is. However, some rap (very few) artists are quite inteligent and could be excellent lyricist if the decided to choose a diferent genre. Techno is garbage as well. I cant stand music which really is just parts of other peoples music being ripped off and played over and over to try and make it there own

Yeah there are SEVERAL rappers who rap about some bull$hit. I'm tired of hearing about "bling" "grills" and "hoes." When they make something that I can actually relate to, "Live In the Sky" by TI, for example, then I have much more respect for the artist. Then Diddy talking about how he "got it to blow, got it to spend" is so annoying. He needs to realize his time as a rapper was over when Biggie died.

Hip-Hop is a dead art that will soon be phased out. Now rap on the otherhand is universal and timeless. Hip-Hop has become stupid and overdone I agree with you on that but needless to say it has had a good run and until the urban demographic finds something else to listen to while eating Mcdonald's and playing basketball then extinct it will not be. Respk.

You made me chuckle. I'm with you. RAP is only good when the message is true. So much of RAP is no better than banging a garbage can and listening to the alley cats screech.

definitely most radio hip hop is terrible and dumbed down, but there are still some good acts out there, like the Roots, Del, Lyrics Born, etc.

I like those guys anyway.
