A child isn't able to toilet train until a few factors fall into place naturally.
1. They must be CONSCIOUS of when they need to pee, before peeing. (This means both being familiar with the physical sensation, and being aware of it.)
2. They must be able to INDICATE that they need to use the potty (verbally or in motions.)
3. They must be able to HOLD IT IN long enough to get to the potty.
4. They must WANT to. (Punishments and threats won't help you in this department.)

Some children's bladders, sensations, awareness, and muscle control all fall into line to allow them to be ready before the age of two. Other children aren't ready until closer to age four, because their bodies simply aren't ready yet. MOST children will be mostly potty-trained for urine during the daytime somewhere between age 2-3. (Some accidents, and night wetting, can be expected until 4-5, with some children experiencing night wetting into their early teens. Bowel training can also come later than peeing on the potty does.)

2 is the perfect age to start, Get her some of those pull ups, instead of pampers. Then buy a training toilet for her. You can put it on your toilet. Then every few hours you put her there until she gets use to it. My daughter was so scared of the toilet, that we had to put her little toilet in the living room, and let her watch t.v. . In time she started to use it. After a month or so we put it back where it should be, in the bathroom. Since she was use to it , she started to go on her own. I would let her watch videos that taught her about pot-tie training. They worked, I think you can buy them at book stores or kids stores. That was years ago, so I don't know where they are at now.

I have three children, and they were all trained by the time they were two(2). Girls are not as hard to train as boys, my daughter was trained at 15 months and the boys were 18 and 19 months, But if you have not started to train her now that's she two(2)when will you start when the pampers do not fit anymore.

I began training all my kids when they were two. Don't force it on her though. Take her with you and let her pick out her potty chair. Then bring it home and let her set it up with you. Play it up really good. Then let her sit on it. Chances are you aren't going to get anything then. But constantly ask her if she has to go potty and take her atleast once an hour. And let her go in with you so she can see mommy uses the big girl potty.Offer incentives if you have to like stickers or a treat for when she does go potty. It works like a charm....happpy training and good luck

Soon. Try the new diapers that feel cool when she gets wet. I was TT'd at 18 months - made life a lot easier for my mon!

I find the star system works great - everytime she uses the potty, she gets a gold star to stick on a chart on the bathroom doorl. Red star for Number 2.

Good luck!

You should have trained her about a year and three months ago. That's when my son learned--at nine months of age. I don't know why people wait so long. They're perfectly capable of learning. At two years old, she's no longer a baby. She's a toddler.

My biggest piece of advice would be if you are going to do it, you have to commit and put her in knickers all day, even if you are going out. Its dead awkward at times especially at first cos she will have loads of accidents but if you put nappies on her some times and not others she will get mixed messages. It'll take time and persistence but she will get there. Just keep asking her if she needs a wee or a poo and sitting her on the potty. If she has an accident explain to her again what the potty is for. It might take some time of her weeing in her knickers before she connects thats what the potty's for but if you keep going over it she will get it eventually. I would still put a nappy on her at night though cos at that age she wont be able to wake herself up and get herself to her potty when she needs a wee. Good luck!

it has to be early so keep her ready for it although a child cant control his micturition reflex until 3 yrs of age but to train the child bring it to her mind that she should use toilet. take her to toilet when u feel its long since last time she used it so that she will get ready to learn it habitually.
