Diphenhydramine hydrochloride (trade name Benadryl®, as produced by Pfizer or Dimedrol outside the US) is an over-the-counter (OTC) antihistamine and sedative. Diphenhydramine is widely used in nonprescription sleep aids with a 50mg recommended dose mandated by the FDA. In the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and other countries, a 50 to 100mg recommended dose is permitted. In spite of its use and effectiveness as a sleep-inducing agent, when this drug is sold as an antihistamine, warning of the potential loss of alertness is rarely prominently displayed on packaging.

Zolpidem is a prescription drug used for the short-term treatment of insomnia. It works quickly (usually within 15 minutes) and has a short half-life (2-3 hours). Some trade names of zolpidem are Ambien®, Stilnox®, Stilnoct®, Hypnogen® or Myslee®.

Zolpidem doesn't produce a hangover. Try to get it.

Facing or in the midst of one of life’s more demanding periods? Dealing with major change, such as a new job, a move or final exams? PNT 200 was designed for people just like you who are under stress and who wish to wake up refreshed every morning. You’ll benefit most by taking the maximum dose of PNT 200 for at least 15 days – although many people feel the benefits after the very first day. After the initial period, you can reduce your daily dosage to one capsule; your body will now be equipped to resist the stress caused by the continuous challenges of life in the 21st century. Not addicting, with no side effects, PNT 200 can be safely used on an ongoing basis.

Theres a vitamin called melatonin its a sleep aid that is produced in your brain which you could be lacking if you have trouble sleeping. Its pretty cheap and very safe with no medications in it. I never take more than the recommended dose though because it makes me dream weird. Takeit about 20 minutes before bed. If you don't like that theres simply sleep made by the makers of tylenol but without the pain reliver. Good Luck!

My Insomnia was cured by Passiflora Incarnata Q, its a homoeopathic medicine and have to take 20 drops in a bit of warm water thrice a day. Makes you go to a very peaceful deep sleep, and its non addictive. I took it for a month and now I dont have any trouble going to sleep. And I have not taken anything to help me go to sleep for the last one year since getting cured by Passiflora Incarnata, wonderful medicine and the best thing is there are no side effects. The Q after the name is the sign of mother tincture, just in case.
All the Best.

Any antiemetic such as Gravol will induce drowsiness and ultimately sleep. A 50mg tablet should do the trick.

As is the case with benzo-diazapines, narcotics and barbituates......an antiemetic stays with you for a period that extends beyond normal time alloted for sleep. You will feel a little groggy for the first part of the next day too.

Melatonin. I have used it before and it is effective. I would shy away from the TYLENOL PMS and the NYQUIL that you have been advised to take. Occasionally they might be OK, but I would be very fearful of taking those products regularly. Go see your Doc. before you hit the hard stuff. There might be something else going on causing this.

Dear Eric,
Being an insomniac myself, I know of 2. But I I have no idea of the reason you may want to use them & why you won't see a doctor, so principles won't let me tell you.
The best one I have found is physical activity. Theres nothing like a well earned sleep- smile-
Kind Regards,
