Trust me I am not saying they can, it's just something my sister and girlfriend say. But to tell the truth, I have been eating a lot here lately. And I know that even old people have strange sayings and stuff, but is this possible?

It is not uncommon to have "sympathy" pains for someone who is "suffering".

Peace.

I am partial to the idea that there is a thought frequency that transmits between all minds, influencing each other in ways they don't realise, for example when a speaker gets up, he can either feel reassured or pummeled from the start, now normally one can say that such is a natural reaction to being on stage in combination with a person's personality, however with the gravity of these reactions, it's hard to say it might not be something more, some people might even act in a contradictory fashion to their personalities. Perhaps the same energies that produce everything among the natural world, light, heat, radio, etc.. are the same energies responsible for the manner in which we think? For what is thought, exactly? Chemical reactions? frequencies? a combination of both? We're not entirely certain, and before we can even be sure of what makes thought, then certainly, we can't be entirely certain what the mind would be capable of producing, or what the nature of how thought operates is, we can only be certain that we do indeed, think. So could it not be possible, that thoughts not only conduct themselves within our own minds, but act as both a reciever and transmitter to thought frequency between those we interact with? And if such a thing is possible, would it not be even more likely that two people so closely linked and so often interacting as two spouses would recieve each other's thought? And would it not be even more likely that at a time when the emotional and mental structure of a person is so spontaneous and strong as during a period of pregnancy that the thought frequency emitted by that woman would be of an even greater gravity, and then isn't it just as likely that someone so close as a husband would be more receptive to pick up on these frequencies? And if thoughts can influence the production of different hormones, and we could recieve thoughts from others, does that not mean that it would not be improbable to believe that a man could be physiologically altered in a similar fashion to his wife during a period of pregnancy? I think we are too early in the field of understanding this part of human anatomy to understand that question, but one could surmise that it might be possible, and indeed probable as well, but I speak only from my own ideas, I have little to substantiate the notion.

Yes, it is very true!!!!! My husband had symptoms before I did. He had cravings, gained weight, and even had morning sickness. THANKS GUYS FOR TAKING PART IN THIS:) I know it sounds strange, but I have met a lot of expecting parents going through the same thing. I hope this helps you see a little of what your girlfriend is going through, and it will help you to respect and support her during this time. My husband seemed to be more involved throughout our pregnancies because we truly experienced them together. Good luck and congratulations. You'll be a great father, because of your concern.

There is no physical reason for this phenomenon (called "Sympathy Pains"), but I suppose it is possible for psychological reasons. BUT...

I had severe abdominal cramps, nausea, and other symptoms when my wife was pregnant with our first child. I blamed it on "sympathy pains." Unfortunately, it turned out that I had a severe disease, and had delayed treatment because I blamed it on sympathy pains. My delay caused permanent and serious health problems from which I will always suffer.

SO... My advice to ANYONE: If you are having significant symptoms of any kind, do not attribute them to something like sympathy pains. SEE A GOOD DOCTOR and let HIM or HER rule out any serious conditions. Then you can blame them on sympathy pains, or whatever.

females can get pregnant months after having a c-area, even vertical incisions, without concern. a chum of mine had her 0.33 toddler by utilising c-area in 3 years those days, and not a single concern! it quite is been years for the reason that your surgical treatment, the scar tissue has softened out a sprint and could quite stretch out to handle a sprint one. the growth of your bump would be sluggish adequate to allow the tissue to stretch around your increasing uterus and stop muscular tissues tearing. The worst you will could desire to handle is stretch marks that radiate far off from the scar tissue, yet that's an extremely minor situation whilst in comparison with the miracle of becoming a sprint one! Congrats on beating maximum cancers! And the very appropriate of luck with conceiving!

Sure they can. It's an empathic response to a dear friend who's suffering. I understand it's not rare even today, and thousands of years ago men deliberately cultivated it -- it was a custom called "couvade". The idea was that getting weakened by suffering made a person vulnerable to the attacks of evil spirits. (Hey, I said thousands of years ago, didn't I?) Therefore men, who were actually perfectly healthy, faked it to attract the demons' attention, so they'd let the women who really _were_ suffering alone. Evil spirits are pretty dumb, you know.

I havent personally come across it (though I imagine friends would keep it quiet if they did go through it!). I have heard of it though, its called sympathy pains. The closeness of the relationship , and possibly hormones (you know how girls hormones send out signals to other girls and they go in sync with their cycles, that type of thing) set it off.
If concerned you have it, visit a Dr, and if they dont take it serious, find one who understands.

OH yeah. My best friends boyfriend had everthing she did, and even gained almost as much weight as she did. I don't know the real reason why it happens but I personally think it has to do with their feelings toward each other... and the fact that sometimes people's minds play with them.

Yes, it is possible. It's not unusual for the male to display 'symptoms' of pregnancy when their partner is pregnant.
