i was wondering does anyone out there believe that there will be another space race in the future and who do you believe it will be between?

The next space race will be between China and the US. Its already happening. That is why Bush announced we are going back to the moon.. because China is already planning on going there.

Japan's institutionalised standards , the JIS already contains section on Space Weather Forcast. (Some 10 years old by now.)
This doesn't signify that Japan will compete in a space race ,, Japan is America's ally. They shall both be in the same camp.
I cannot answer your question ,, but there is a race on now between Humanity and the rock that is going to smash Earth. If we make it , we won't be here when the rock comes. If we don't ,, we extinct.
We identify that rock as an Earth crosser , by virtue it crosses Earth's orbit. There is ONLY one country investing moneys and research on Earth crossers ,, the US.
