Okay, screw the Aretha Garlique idea. Here's how to look like a REAL psychic: shave your head completely bald. Wear an old tweed coat and sit in a wheelchair. Whenever you want to know information that someone is withholding from you, just hold your index finger and middle finger together and put them to your temple (squinting your eyes to simulate some sort of effort is optional).

Big hair, bigger earrings, lots of rings. No pastels. Almost anything else goes as long as it is overdone and in bad taste. "Real" psychics aren't like that but the stereotype is loosely based on gypsies. You need a strong accent too.

well you aim is to try to look like a gypsy (unless of course you like the russel grant look), so very long hoopy earing, and a bandana on your head, with some long flowery robes, in a dark colour, think your nans curtains, and then of course you need a crystal balll, very important, and also a gold tooth would be excellen..... and they also wear lots of jewellery,
