Any number with exponent 0 = 1. Your next question should be why?

It's like this: You know that when you divide two numbers with exponents you get the quotient by subtracting the exponent of the denominator from that of the numerator, right? For example: x^4/x^2= x^2.

But suppose the exponents are equal to each other such as (2x)^4/(2x)^4? Then the quotient would be (2x)^0, which is equal to 1 because we have divided a number by itself. That's the only case where you can get 0 as an exponent of a number.
