I ask this question because on a cruise ship they do not police the cinema, it is free for all of course, like sitting in a tv lounge and it is my belief that the parents should know what their kids are up to and it is not up to the staff.

Surely the parents should know where their children are. They would know on land so what is the difference on a cruise ship - which is much smaller and easier to supervise one children.

Well, even in regular movie theatres, I see teenagers who look under 18 watching R rated movies, usually because the staff at the theatres are teens or young adults themselves trying to earn some money, so they probley couldn't care less.

As for the cruise ship, your right about parents watching there kids. Plus it's sort of dangerous for parents to just let there kids wander around a cruise ship, lot's of things can happen on a cruise ship.

By the way, some other guy said that cruise laws are under other countries waters. I'm sure that's not right, because laws on cruise ships are confusing, because the ships are usually registeted in another country, and while in water the ship is under the International Maritime Laws.

The law is the same as with alcohol: it is against the law to supply an underage child with an 18-cert video, but not necessarily illegal for them to watch it. On a cruise ship the final say will be down to the captain who would pay heed to his country of disembarquement, but generally speaking, as in the UK, it would be a parent's responsibility to ensure that their children are not watching unsuitable films, and age limits are produced as a guide to this. Generally that meant a parent would be unlikely to get into trouble showing an 18 film to a 17-year-old, but showing something disturbing to a young child could well be considered potentially abusive if it was clear the adult was neglecting their responsibilities.

The UK law states that if a film is restricted as as 12, 15 or 18 then the child myst be over these ages to watch, If they are not and the film has violence or sex then the parents can be prosecuted.

Films that are U, PG and 12A, also require the adult to make a decision about the suitability of the film.

U = child must be over 4 to wach without parents.
PG = Parents need to make the decision and may need to watch the film with the child.
12A = children under 12 can only watch the fim if an adult is with them through-out the film.

A regulation is in simple terms not exceeded as a regulation except maximum contributors of the community conform to it. i don't think it become already there even in the past human beings desperate to stay interior the region. Gated community or flashy subdivisions have already got that interior the affiliation's policies in the past somebody start to occupy the region.. My journey as an city clothier and an architect *** landscaper consistently tell me that those barriers are basically aesthetic and community concern. It would not opt for a regulation to circumvent somebody from excellent their laundries. it ought to could desire to be hung someplace it would not seize plenty interest or distract a astonishing view of the community. We in basic terms choose possibly the thank you to demonstrate it from public view and there many procedures to do it. a number of the garments you're able to hold close may additionally function an invitation to be stolen and if not precise pinned, it ought to finally end up over the neighbor's fence.

Just that little children at loss could not differentiate between fantasy and reality and keep on kicking the butts of parents, teachers and the dirty old men in office exposing the blunders and slip-ups with human errors on planet earth.
So parents have to make their own judgement on what is good and what is not suitable for their children on planet earth.

Most cruise ships, like most airlines, screen edited movies to make them suitable for kids. At home, you have a duty to supervise your kids. In theory (though it seems unlikely) you might be found negligent if you let your kids watch unsuitable content.

What time do they show these films? Are they expecting the kids to be tucked up in bed?
In my travel experience, films with and adult rating (15 or 18) can be shown at anytime and in many cases scenes with violence, sex or bad language are cut out or toned down.

One important bit of information is where is the cruise ship. If it is in international waters than the laws are different.
