There is a couple of things you can do. If you know the year of his divorce and the city and state, you can search public records on the internet for the decree signed by the judge. If they don't allow internet access to them you can go down to the court records in person and look it up on their computer and request the file from clerk of the court. If you don't live in that city then make a trip to do it, if not to far or you can usually request it in writing and pay for copies to be mailed to. It is a matter of public record unless they had the judge seal it permantatly which is highly unlikely, or if you have a friend in the city have them do it for you. Just remember one thing and that is what do you do if he is still married to her according to all public records? One last thing any paralegal will get you a copy if you pay for it but stick with the ones who do family law. Good luck and I hope your gut feeling is correct and he is.

Find out when and where he filed for the divorce or she did. If he doesn't have the final decree he should have SOMETHING with a case number on it. You should be able to callthe courthouse with that number and they will tell you if he is still married to her.

If he is your marriage is null and void and he is a bighamist. I would suggest finding out if he is still married to her and if so you need to have your marriage taken care of and off the record, and he needs a divorce.

He may not necessarily have a decree. My divorce was final in June of 06 and I still don't have one...I got a letter from them stating that as of this date my divorce would be final but still no decree.

Good Luck!

Public Records Office in your local courthouse can help with that. It Hd to befiled and settles in district court. Check that first, and maybe ask him for a copy of the divorce decree that was staped by the judges office when it was files. He probably has it somewhere, if not a copy of that is esily gotten as well.

Ask to see the divorce document. He would have gotten one, as well as her. And the divorce should be recorded at the court house in the state that the divorce was filed and finalized in.
