Little Children, just because it shows a woman trying to escape a "life of unhappiness."

I don't know if it actually "changed" my life or not, but "ET" had a significant affect on how I was feeling at the time it came out. My father had just passed away. When my husband and I came home from the funeral (it was in another state) I was extremely depressed. I'd learned from Dad's ICU nurse the morning that he died that he wasn't expected to live so I caught the first plane out. I missed saying good-bye by 2 hours. I was really out of sorts the first night home and my husband suggested ET because everyone was raving about it. When ET started to fade away and just wanted to go home, I started crying and couldn't stop. I knew it was finally all the emotional guilt I had been feeling about not being with my Dad. It was more cathartic than anything anyone had said to me or the love and affection family and friends had shown me.

Somewhat. Movie's can definitely change how you perceive the world or at least how other perceive it.
Some amazing movies are:
Big Fish - The separation of reality and fiction
Crash - Racism and how it is proliferated
Munich - Sheds light on the tensions between the Jewish and Palentine people
Although there hasnt been one movie which has completely change my life (a doubt movies have enough time to really touch upon enough issues) they have definitely change aspects of me.

"What the bleep do we know?" certainly got me thinking, but that's not really a 'movie'. Still, I have to admit I've been looking at things a little differently since I saw it.
Though I suppose everything we experience changes us in some small way. For example, I was watching "Lethal Weapon" the other day, and this hand reached out of my TV and strangled me until I converted to Budhism.

I really do think that no movie has ever made a substantial impact on the way I live my life. Forrest Gump was really impressive to me when it came out, but I haven't altered my life because of it. Movies have entertained me but not altered me.

The Terminal, perhaps.
1. That man's optimism and altruism is infectious.
2. His tragedy opened my heart to a subtler level of understanding. I guess I have been grosser.
3. The unrealised love between Catherine Zeta and Tom Hanks is also a moving experience. A truly brilliant work.

it would be Hotel Rwanda.it has a message in it if you trully look beyond all the horror thats going on,and that message is "live your life to the fullest".take time to appreciate all the good things that happen in your life;your family, friends, your job,a chance at having an education..others would have loved to have the same.Take time to thank God you were considered special enough to receive all the luxuries life has to offer.use what you have to make a positive impact on somebody else's life.
