In both lemons and limes there is a range of sweetness. Key limes and Meyer lemons are both sweet. The limes and lemons you get in grocery stores are generally bland or bitter or both. Lemon juice is made from lemons by definition unless you mean commercially produced lemonade which may contain both lemon and lime juice.

Um...is Chicken of the Sea really chicken? Jessica Simpson, I didn't know you posted on here! Hi!
Clue: Lemons are only sweet if you add sugar. Lemon juice has no sugar added. Cut open a fresh lemon and take a big bite right away. The truth will set you free.

adding the 2 egg yolks means you need to bake it!! Lemon or lime juice from fresh or concentrated will do the same thickening job on sweetened condensed (Eagle Brand) milk. It will thicken it perfectly without any thing else including the eggs for no bake pies. Sometimes I fold in a carton of cool whip after getting the Eagle Brand thickened. Makes an amazing pie!!

Lemon.......hence the name. Oxidized lemon juice may lack the sweetness of the original, but it is still lemon juice.
