whats being over looked here due to pattons on stem cell, and the money involved is that chordblood and placentas have the same stem cells that can be used, we don't need a fetus to produce that, but a live birth can! I support medical advancement buut am against killing the unborn to prolong life

There is nothing magic about stem cells and all the religious arguments make absolutely no sense at all. It's a cell. Nothing more, nothing less. Medical science and advancements are important and have done a LOT to save lives. Just think of penicillin. Most importantly, the effects of "medical advancements" have been proven in clinical studies.
Problem with all the "natural cures" is that they are hard to document in a double blinded study. They are working off the "placebo" effect, which is a real effect, so if it helps you, that's excellent.

Just out of curiosity, do you prefer these Embryos to be thrown away instead of being used for stem cell research? Why is it that those who are so opposed to Embryonic Stem Cell Research never mention the fact that thousands of embryos are thrown away as medical waste because they are no longer needed. If the couple who created the embryos to aid in getting pregnant no longer need them and they wish for them to be used in stem cell research, why are you trying to stop them? Conservatives try to make it sound like if these embryos aren't used for stem cell research they will be used as a "snowflake" child and be born. The truth is, if they aren't used for research they will be thrown away. So if the embryos are going to be destroyed regardless, why is it so wrong to use them for research that could help find a cure for diseases like Parkinson or Multiple Sclerosis?

in the news recently doctors have been able to get stem cells from the skull of the sick person and place them where needed. They are supposed to grow where placed to heal the patient. I don't know the stats of the results. No fetus used.

Man if you or your family had a condition which could be cured using this research, I guarantee you would be all for it to save the life of someone you care about. Think about others rather then the religious aspect of it.
