I mean in real emergency only(drowning, heart attack, asphixia, asthma attack, electrocution, giving birth to a baby, car accident,etc...).Would you sue me for breaking your ribs during chest compressions or causing minor illness like cough or sorethroat due to mouth-to-mouth breathing eventhough i've saved your life? Can we be friends after i manage to revive you?Would you marry me?hehehe...(the "marry me" is not really a serious question but you can answer it if you wanted to:-))

I do think we are living in a very touchy world now. People want to sue for every little reason. I wouldn't dare try to sue someone for reviving me if it was done wrong. Cuz think about it. Something was done right if your back. Lets get real.
And depending on how you look and live i would have to see about marrying you...lol

As an EMT, I know the laws that can protect a bystander who helps in a situation like this. Look into the good samaritan law. I'm not for positive, but I think it also covers people who aren't EMTs. As long as you didn't cause more harm in doing CPR (such as breaking off the xiphoyd process and having it float into the heart, yeah it happens) you should be good to go if you get sued. And I would definetly thank you and probably name my first born child after you!

You will break ribs during compressions, trust me I've done it almost everytime I have preformed compressions on a patient. You can't be sued for things like this, you are protected by the Good Samaritan Law.

I would want and hope that someone would preform CPR on me. I would thank you for saving my life. It pissed me off that some people actually sue for broken ribs. It's like fine F you, I could have not done it and then you would have died. I just saved you, you @$$.

If i'm unresponsive, yes, that's called implied consent. Technically, I can sue you if you broke my ribs, but previous cases of this nature would award me only one dollar due to precedents. And if you're a chick, then yes, I will marry you; but if you're a dude, you have to buy me dinner first. lol

If I needed CPR, I wouldn't be able to tell you if I wanted you to do it or not. I would hope you would, though. I would thank you and thank you and thank you and thank you......etc.
