Fired from your job for becoming pregnant.
Do women who become pregnant prevent other women from getting the top positions or passed over for the male because of pregnancy?

You should not be fired, but you should be put on leave when you can no longer do your job, or when the doctor tells you to stop working. YOUR JOB SHOULD NOT BE HELD FOR YOUR RETURN, but another job made available as soon as one opens up, even if you must take a lower paying job.
Women becoming pregnant and needing leaves so often does hold them back, and it holds all women back. A simple fact, and it won't change. Monthly absenteeism, or unstable emotional responses during the monthly period will always hold women back as well. Society only gives mouth service to women on these issues.

People work for the employer. The employer does not work for the people. Hired help is, has been, and always will be more in demand than jobs. Are you really able to feel what you would do if YOU were the owner of a business, barely making it, and had to deal with these issues, or are you so pro woman that you can't see anything clearly as a human??

I don't think its right to fire someone for getting pregnant And no it has nothing to do with promotions on the job. It is a insurance thing and a time out thing for the employer. This is still a mans world and he is losing ground to women who are smarter and in a lot of cases do a better job and that is embarrassing to the male ego

Hi - Not unless there is a concrete reason why they shouldn't be working there. As the previous responder said "if toxic chemicals were involved". But, in most states in America a pregnant women who was penalized for being pregnant would have a whooper of a law suit on her hands.

Nope. That's wrong. That's just as bad as being racist.
Just because a women is pregnant does not mean she isn't a valuable asset to the company (or whatever)
I've worked at a job where the manager would not hire anyone who was pregnant and I was disgusted

Here in the US this is illegal. And it should not be allowed as long as you can do your job. If you are unable to do you duties, then you should step aside and let someone in that can. I should not be penalized because you became pregnant either. Right?
