OH MY! That is a problem! I would be disgusted and....I'm sorry....but it would make me gag!
You could make up some type of skin disease or parasite in the household and tell them that the Health department had advised showering or bathing at least once a day! You could even buy some medicated soap to make it seem authentic. That would probably only work short-term unless the roommate is traumatized and develops OCD and washes compulsively thereafter!

Give her a gift basked disguised as a "relaxation basket" buy a set of body wash, lotion, and body spray all the same flavor and place it in the basket with a few other "travel size deoderants and toiletry's. Top off with a coffee mug full of tea's and cocoa's add a small candle and a good book... make up a cute little poem telling her to go take a bubble bath, read a book and relax.
Problem solved. no feelings hurt and she thinks your the sweetest friend for thinking of her feelings

I had a stinky roommate and believe me politeness didn't work. In the end whenever she was around me, I'd spray aerosol air freshener in her direction. If I were you I'd just come right out and tell her it's time she showered. But say it as humourously as you can.

The military way. When you have someone in the barracks that stinks... a bunch of guys will throw him in the shower ... it works every time.
Peer pressure is what that is and there are other, maby gentler, ways to use it, but use it.!
Just out of the shower ....
Good luck,
Jonnie

If they are really friends , your cousin should take the guts telling her friend. Say it in a sattire way, a sort of comedy but with contents and substance. or ask her to take a bath together because we will be talking something confidential while bathing. just an alibi.
