The secret in politics is "timing." If he runs now he'll lose because he will be perceived (i'm afraid, rightly) as not having sufficient experience at the national level. And once he's pegged as a loser, he'll never get another chance at the presidency.

He's only been in the Senate for less than two years. He's not ready for the presidency. He could, however, be the ideal nominee for the Vice-Presidential slot. He would re-energize African American voters, and probably secure the election.

No. First he was only elected because his opponent self destructed by trying to take his wife to sex clubs. Second, he is what a two year first time office holder, with no history, no credibility, and we are asking this question. Lets wait for him to serve two or three terms, see what he does, then have this discussion.

Yes , but not in " 08 " it's to early this time . I think he would make a wonderful President . he just needs to mature a little .
