You need to have your hormones checked. This happend to me after my hysterectomy. Your gyn should be able to take a blood test to determine your hormone levels, of estrogen, progesterone and yes, testosterone. (I had None). This can also affect your energy level. A good all over physical could help too.

It sounds as though you may be suffering from depression. Are you feeling over stressed about something else in your life such as a job, or children, etc? You didn't mention whether or not you take a hormone replacement pill, if so which one??? And when did the sex drive stop, was it ever since your hysterectomy? And lastly, when you do have sex, does it hurt you or make you feel uncomfortable in any way?
I had a total ab. hysterectomy 3 years ago and my sex drive slowed down at first (approx. a 6 month period), and then I had to increase my HRT (I take estradiol) to get me feeling where I was prior to the hysterectomy. Now, my sex drive is just as high as before the operation, plus it feels a lot better too (no more pelvic pain). So you may just need to up the dose of your Hormones replacements.
It's normal to go through depression after a hysterectomy. You become very sensitive (cry easy) and easily irritable until your hormone balance gets to where it should be.
Soooo . . . to get more interested in sexual activity as you were prior too, look into all these matters to find where the problem lies. It may also be an issue with weight gain and you may not feel as secure about your body as you did before the hysterectomy. It is common after the procedure due to the hormonal changes to become very hungry and gain weight.
Don't worry, if you had a good sex drive prior too, it will come back just as strong. Give it time. Good luck!

When you went and had this surg. was it a complete hysterectomy? Like everything gone? If it was, your docs should have warned you about possible early menopause. Total hysterectomies can do that. If it is early menopause or even the pre-stages it can mess with your sex drive. Can make it go down to nill. Don't worry it is normal, but check with O.B, and see if hormonal replacement is right for you if it is pre or early on set of menopause. Also talk to O.B to make sure your not just going through depression. This is very common among women. Don't stress. There are solutions. Been there, done that, and it gets better!

My mom had a hysterectomy maybe 5 or 6 years ago...I don't know anything about her sex drive, but her hormones were all out of whack. If there are other areas of your life where you feel different from before the hysterectomy, I would talk to your Dr. about getting on some hormone therapy, or maybe there are some other alternatives.

If good sex is no longer making you want more sex, your hysterectomy could be messing with your hormone levels and trying to convince your body that you don't want sex anymore. I would be willing to bet your doctor could help. PS I love how the guys think porn will cure you. :P

Speak with your Gynecologist & relate your concerns about this to him/her. I think this is a symptom of your hysterectomy, but I'm NOT a doctor. I would imagine there must be something that will help you. Your young & perhaps estrogen or progesterone replacements will help. Talk to your doctor....

Its probably a hormone imbalance. Dont feel bad it happens. Talk to your doctor about your feelings soon.
