Hopefully, youre a female poet or lyricist. There are a lot of songs where the lady name is made part of the lyric but there are not too many songs that I know of where guy's name is mentioned. Perhaps male names arent poetic or is there some sort of trade secret about this?

Women aren't talking about 1 specific guy. That would be my guess. They are trying to cover their basis.

could be a smart marketing thing. crossover sales to the gay /lesbian market by not being gender specific. Cher and Streisand and Melissa Etheredge come to mind. 1 is lesbian and the other 2 enjoy huge popularity in the gay community. Couple of R&B women with grammys too.( I don't listen to that genre much so I'm not good woth the names - one girl is a New Yorker plays the piano and has like 6 grammys) Song writing is not just a expression of emotion anymore (art) but a big business too.

Women are too shy to admit they are chasing a guy. They do not mention the name of the guy, hoping he will cinematically recognize himself and come running back to her. LOL Just kidding I don't know at all.

i guess it's easier to dedicate a song if it's got no names in it. How lame would it be if you liked a song (and wanted to dedicated to your love one) where the main character's name was Robert and the love of your life was called Joseph...it's a wasted song!
Personally i like songs better when they have people´s name in them.
Or it could be that she's got lots of loves, so she doesn't want to leave anyone out. :-p

i write songs and poetry, and i don't like using a boyfriend's or a crush's name in my stuff (especially my songs) because i don't wanna put my feelings out there just in case the feelings aren't returned. sometimes, i like to use characteristics (like eye color, hair color, ect) so it seems like i'm writing about a whole range of guys instead of just one.

i imagine what u did replaced into truly sweet and she might want to b satisfied that u wrote a play consisting of her in recommendations. the failings u put in the play arent even that non-public so she shouldnt b mad that u like bought her out. the play might want to b about any1 and that i imagine she is in the incorrect. she doesnt sound like she appreciates u in any respect and u were truly sweet to attempt this.
