First, don't panic. Keep a cool head so you don't make mistakes.
Second, don't let yourself get surrounded. Either make a timely escape (preferably in a vehicle), or get to a secure spot (high ground, locked room, etc.)
If you need to stay in one place, barricade as much as possible. If you need to fight, aim for the head, though kneecaps are good too. Fire works pretty well also.

Get a sniper rifle and bombs and go to your local mall (or taco bell) and barricade yourself there and when your on the roof snipe the zombies in the head and when theres to many zombies to shoot just throw some bombs off the roof.

clearly in this situation, you need a distraction... turn on a radio or other noise making object and run the other way! if you must fight them, blowing off their heads with a shot gun is the most effective method.

zombies? dont you just shot them in the head? thats what i would do! i'd get some raw meat throw it out in the open then start shooting them all! or burn them.
