Someone told me, the world was going to end in 2013. Tell me if anyone knows about this. This person might have been trying to scare me, or maybe they were serious. What do y'all think?

I think it has to do with the ancient Mayan calendar (from Mexico) only going up until 2013. Some people see that as a sign that is the time the world will end.

The ancient Mayan calendar ended in Dec. of 2012. If you believe in the Bible Codes, it also states Dec. 2012.
Not to mention at least 4 people in the past like Nostradamus also stated that the world would end in later part of 2012.
But if you read the Bible it states that the end times is a change from what we know. Plus it also states that no man, not even Jesus knows the end time. So if God himself put in print that no man knows.....how can we believe all these men?

Probably depends on what you mean by "end of the world." Are you referring to the end of the human race or life on planet earth? If you are referring to the later, my bets hedge on the fact that life has been recorded in the fossil record for millions of years. Probability indicates the human race will more likely come to an end. We newbies in the evolutionary process and are open to extinction variables our ancestors faced and were overcome by. Can man predict exact dates when the next super flu kills half the population? No. Is there evidence a god has set a date for the annihilation of life on planet earth. I don't think so. Personally I don't see evidence of god(s) anywhere in the cosmos. However, if there is a god and is scheduling dates for the destruction of life supporting planets. he or she will be very busy as mathematically speaking there are billions of earth-like planets within our galaxy and there are billions of galaxies in the universe.

The Bible says no man know the day, time the time or the hour. Please don't spend your time worrying about that. Just receive Christ, and Live a Righteous life. All throughout history man has said the world is coming to an end. God placed his word in the Bible so that we don't have to concern our selves with that. Again Love God. Live Righteous.

Its a myth.
The Mayan legend is that the world will end as we know it, not that it will end.
It means a change of consciousness not that everyone is going to die.

It is myth.Think broadly ,if any of us dies,his materialistic world is ended.God has given us some signs.All are not revealed.If they appeared ,the world would be ended.
