Generally speaking, drinking and driving is seen as one of the lowest things a person can do, and I'd tend to agree with that. My spouse lost both parents to drunk drivers in separate accidents (several years apart), and I had two siblings maimed and nearly killed by a drunk with a number of prior DWI citations.
When I was younger, there weren't as many prohibitions on drunk driving as there are now, but these days, nobody seems to take it lightly. The penalties can be very harsh. And if that keeps more drunks off the highway, then so be it.

Drink and Drive and drunk driving aren't exactly the same. I can have a beer or a glass of wine when out at dinner and I know I am perfectly fine. Drunk driving is another story. It puts other people at risk and it is looked at as stupid, irresponsible and selfish. If someone drives somewhere they should know to stay over, get a ride or not get drunk/impaired in the first place. I can't imagine a night of drinking would ever be worth killing a person or an entire family for.

The general consensus is that it is wrong. With the legal limit being 0.08, that is really low. And it is that low, because of preservation of life! Living-good. Death-bad. And drinking and driving just don't mix! The advantages of drinking? It causes you to feel relaxed. You become uninhibited. The taste, of most drinks if made well, is good. You say what you really think and do what you want to do. And the disadvantages? Sometimes if you drink to much, you feel TO uninhibited, you say TO much, and you DO things that may embarrass you under normal circumstances. You can't buy a good alcoholic beverage under $5.00. Sometimes you wake up with a hang over, and then you look over and see something laying on your arm that resembles a human, but you'd rather chew your arm off at the shoulder then pull it out from underneath them, then risk waking them.

A friend of mine was drunk and driving home and swerved into the other lane and killed a lady, he served 10 years in prison and the memory of that night haunts him to this day. A cousin who is an attorney was hit by a drunk driver and is crippled. My attitude is against drunk driving. It kills innocent lives daily because someone wants to have fun and not care about themselves or others. If you drink, get a cab, call a friend or do what I did one time and sleep in your car until daylight and sober.

The general thought is all what has been posted but truth which shd be analysed is the reason.......
to be True there are reasonS..... not reason....
On a survey the
23% is drinking out of Enjoyment & Happiness..
14% is drinking out of habit
28% is drinking out of failure
24% is drinking out of loss in past
11% is drinking out of multiple reasons....
So on a whole the reason being identified by the person who drink himself only can change them and no one else.....
There is always a solution to any problem in the world!!

They're brainless morons who are putting other peoples lives at risk with their own incredible stupidity!
Drunk drivers should be charged with murder, if they end up killing someone.
There was this guy here recently who plowed into a group of day care center kiddies, he killed 4 and another one is on the verge of dying at this very moment, but due to the law, he got 5 years in prison. Not bad for five vehicular homocides!!

people who drink and drive are selfish. so many innocent people are killed or injured because they were hit by a drunk driver. the advantage of drinking is having fun and not driving. the disadvantage is a hangover for some people.

A very bad choice. When someone chooses to drink and drive they are not only putting their own lives at risk but the lives of everyone around them. The real tragedy is that it is so preventable.

I've done it before. One of the stupidest things I have ever done. There are no positives to this decision, other then making it home with your own car, and not having to pay for a cab, or have had to disturb your parents or friends slumber. Just call your mom, or dad, or friend, or even the dude you slept with last week end. No judgements. No punishments. Who Cares!? The father and his daughter coming back from gradmas house for family dinner, that you didn't hit and kill. That's who cares.
